I finally found some time to update this thing. I've been fairly busy the past month, work has been busy then slow and then busy again but now it's back to being slow. I am also working on starting my own Photography business. On a personal note Kendra and I are still loving every moment that we have together. We enjoyed a fun prom this year spending a lot of time with her sister and her boyfriend. I will post some pictures soon. As of now I am just hanging out at home watching the history channel and listening to Indie 103.1.

A Long Needed Vacation

It's time again for a long needed vacation. You don't know how bad I need this one. I'm flying out Wednesday to visit my Uncle in Florida for a few days and then off to one of my favorite places on earth, Disney World. Ok, I know it sounds lame but there is something special about going there. I have always enjoyed walking around the parks and riding the rides. I know that they are not all thrill rides but they are still fun. I will post lots of pictures when I get back so check back soon.

Trans-Siberian Orchestra

Last night Kendra and I attended the Trans-Siberian Orchestra winter concert and it was Amazing. I have listened to their CDs and enjoyed them all but the experience is not complete without the awesome visuals. Fire, Lasers, Strobes, and thousands of lights combined with their unique style of symphonic rock create a great performance. I will definitely be attending the next time they are nearby.

I saw this on Reuters today and thought it was worth re-posting.

"BERLIN - Thieves in Germany stole 7,500 euros ($9,554) from a man by throwing feces at him from behind and then pick-pocketing him while they pretended to help clean up the mess, authorities said Monday.

After withdrawing 8,000 euros from a bank for a holiday the man was struck in the back of the neck by what he described as human feces, police in the central town of Giessen said.

"Immediately afterwards two large women came up to him from behind and claimed they had seen someone excreting down onto the street from above," police said in a statement.

The two women then began briskly wiping the filth from the man's clothing with paper towels they had with them. They were soon joined by a third man, who also came bearing paper towels.

Only when the man went to take his foul-smelling trousers to cleaners did he notice that 7,500 euros had been taken from his back pocket by one of the would-be helpers, police said."

I just got a new Digital SLR Camera and WOW! I love this camera. I've been using point and shoots forever and I finally decided I was ready to step up to something bigger and better. I was getting tired of the terrible shutter delay on my old camera, so I wanted something with a very good response time. I must say it takes the greatest pictures.

Surprise! The War On Movie Piracy Isn't Working

Software companies and their shill groups have been spreading around reports on the "cost" of piracy, which are made bogus by their assumption that every pirated copy of software equates to a lost sale, which simply isn't the case. Now, the MPAA has joined the fun, saying piracy costs it $6.1 billion a year. That's 75% more than previous figures, and the study was even supposed to account for people who were watching pirated films they wouldn't otherwise pay for. The MPAA didn't want to release the study, and it's little wonder why: doing so would not only call into question its previous research, but also be a tacit admission that its "war" on piracy is failing, and failing badly. But, of course, there's a flip side to this. Instead of waking up and realizing that the answer is changing their business models to reflect the changing times, they'll use the figures to run to Washington (or some other world capital) and get their Congressional lapdogs to expand copyright laws and give pirates more stringent punishments, since current laws "aren't working". Oh wait -- they're already doing that. The entertainment industry's misguided strategy, reliant on legislation and litigation, is only succeeding at one thing: turning customers into criminals. The industry is fighting a losing battle, and nothing will change until it puts a higher priority on reforming its business models than it does on locking down content and locking up pirates.
